Review of Phone Booth (2003) by Ahmed M — 22 Jul 2010
What's good about this film is that it manages to create a story out of something so simplistic and yet capture the audience's fears so well at the same time. As a viewer, one can relate to this film because we can all imagine what it would be like to be caught up in the main character's situation and what we would do (or wouldn't do) if we were him.
The film is shot very well, with the hustle and bustle of New York City captured in all its glory, helping along the fast paced nature of the action scenes. Colin Farrell plays his character very convincingly, and the suspense he creates leaves the viewer guessing until the very end.
This is not a groundbreaking film, not so far from it, but it's very enjoyable nonetheless, with great performances all round.
