Review of Phenomena (1985) by Catherine R — 05 Jun 2009
Argento has unfortunatelly stoped making films like Phenomena, Inferno or Suspiria. Phenomena has the main structure of Suspiria: a young girl goes to a foreign country and faces evil killers. The idea of this girl having the ability to communicate with insects makes the story much more interesting.
Fortunatelly, Argento is not afraid to dare when it comes to music. Hard rock songs in combination with well-directed sequences is not just brilliant, but also creates a gripping atmosphere. One of Argento's best works.
