Every frame of this movie is immaculate. Every sound in this movie is perfectly edited and mixed. Every moment of Jonny Greenwood's score is beautiful. Every actor in this movie gave a masterful performance that you expect from actors of their caliber.

Too bad none of that mattered, because I didn't give a shit about anything that happened in this movie. If you're chasing the high that PT Anderson gave you with movies like Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love or There Will Be Blood, you will get bored. PT Anderson movies usually feel really meaty, with plenty of dramatic moments that leave you stunned and guessing. That didn't happen in this movie at all. If you're expecting some crazy shit to go down like in every other PT Anderson movie, you will be very disappointed.

I was reading that this movie was inspired by a real life moment PT Anderson had with his wife, Maya Rudolph. The meta thing has been done plenty of times, but I would have much rather watched a movie about a fictionalized life of PT Anderson and Maya Rudolph.

Speaking of his wife, I can't believe Maya Rudolph let her husband make the whitest movie. Sometimes it feels like studios make period pieces just to not hire people of color. So, there's one latino person in the movie, but, honestly, I wouldn't have even cared about the 99% white cast if this movie had been interesting.
