The main reason I went to see this movie was Daniel Day Lewis. Oh, and the clothes because I love good design. Of course he was great as an actor in this and yes, the couturier clothes are fabulous and oh so 50's.
If you have lived the struggle for power between a man and a woman then you will 'get' this movie, not that you want to live it all over again.
I kept waiting and waiting for this movie to 'get better,' 'be enjoyable,' SOMETHING.
It is a bleak movie, in no way uplifting and left me with a feeling of why on earth did I waste my time on this ? ? ? ?
