Review of Phantom of the Paradise (1974) by Jason M — 03 Apr 2009
I have always loved this rock version of "Phantom of the Opera", since seeing it as a child. The classic tale of a composer whose work is stolen by Swan & becomes disfigured while trying to vandalize the record company & becomes The Phantom.
A great rock opera in the tradition of Rocky Horror Picture Show, this boasts great music written by star Paul Williams & many campy performances. One of DePalma's earlier films, his talent makes this film shine.
A fun time for all !
