Review of Phantasm (1979) by Jason V — 07 Jul 2012
Cripes. Not only is Phantasm absolutely boring, it takes forever to actually get into it's plot. If this was designed to play for laughs and horror combined, Phantasm fails. It's not haha-funny, it's not tongue in cheek funny.
I'm not even worried about the low production values based on the low budget. Nor do I really mind the bad acting, the dated sets or any of the other production issues. I simply don't care about what is shown on screen.
That is a factor of the script not getting to its point in any meaningful amount of time.
