Review of Phantasm (1979) by Mark J — 11 Oct 2016
Phantasm Remastered: From the flying metal orb, the tall man, and those creepy jawas, this movie scared the bejesus out of me when I saw it as a kid in 1979. Seeing it now is like going back home only to realize what you thought was a mansion is actually a sad, rundown trailer.
Yes, some of the scenes were actually interesting, clever and wonderfully freakish, but the God awful acting, nonsensical plot and bad dialogue detracts from what was a pretty cool story idea - that a funeral home was sending the newly departed into another dimension to be slaves.
C-.
