Review of Phantasm (1979) by John G — 25 Nov 2009
One of the almost films that suffers from a bad twist towards the end thats brings a dead character back to life after he had been stabbed. The acting is brill and I really like Reg the ice cream man who puts in a great performance.
But Baldwin as a child showed promise as a likeable kid with mischeif that makes the film likeable. The tall man isnt as developed as he was in the later films but he shows style and is a great villian.
The silver balls are reduced to one but its an awesome brain drain. Being a huge fan of the series its a worthy start and def worth a view.
