Review of Phantasm (1979) by Adam T — 13 Dec 2009
Confusing, interesting at parts meld of sci-fi and horror but it's occasionally colourful ideas and memorable visuals are never full realised. Cohesion and weird don't usually settle comfortably, but this picture works more as a short film project rather than a succesful debut.
All the usual elements to a near on 30 year old indie horror [bad acting, interesting it technically unaccomplished effects and visuals, tinny synth score] fall apart due to the lack of any dynamics of reason/rhyme behind it's concept and ideas.
