Review of Phantasm (1979) by Keenan S — 03 Nov 2013
Phantasm is a very entertaining 70's indie horror flick with some minor flaws. While the story has a lot of ideas, I wish there was a lot more content to it and the acting and dialogue are also pretty cheesy.
However, the film makes up for those flaws most of the time through its rather imaginative ideas, plenty of crazy scenes, interesting special effects, intriguing plot twists, and some funny humor mixed in.
Phantasm may not be perfect, but it's a great horror film no less. It's easy to see why it's so admired and I had a lot of fun watching it.
