Review of Phantasm (1979) by Andrey B — 20 Nov 2015
Its one of those; pretty good but also truly bad. The score is really excellent, the script is original, with unusual pacing. But the acting is some of the corniest and hammiest ive seen; the kid is the worst actor on earth.
hes like bette Davis snorted coke and turned into a 13 year old boy / drama queen with anger issues. But theres some real creepiness going on, it makes it worth your time, One little hilarious detail though; the story, as well as it flows, is basically a stoner musing, a weird idea that really makes no sense at all.
But its somehow still good.
