The rare remake the is better than the original. Abandoning the cheesy music and slapstick of the original and instead simply gives us a simple E.T style boy and his dog fantasy story. What is more is the animation on the dragon is great and Elliot the dragon is consistently cute and likable throughout.
A good cute family movie even if it doesn't break too much new ground.
