"Pete's Dragon" is an irresistible family movie that I feel kids and adults will actually enjoy equally. The message is very clear and has been done before, but it is still a good and positive one that families can appreciate together.
It's one of those Disney live-action movies I'm sure I would have adored as a kid and even found great fun in now. It made me feel like a kid again, and that's the best compliment I can give a movie like this.
It's straightforward with its message but its handled with real heart and good characters. .
