The special effects were horrible.

Everything was awful, it was ridiculously boring and just had all around bad acting I should have staying true to the original or even the book they just completely revamped the story and made it almost unrecognizable other than the character names and the overarching themes.

Disney seems to not learn their lesson when remaking these films.

They took Peter Pan and made him into an awful person, which is more in line with the book, but nothing else about the movie is.

Jude Law as Captain Hook was just awful, he wasn't menacing, he wasn't funny, he wasn't anything that Captain Hook was. Peter was absent a good portion of the film and was not his normal valiant self. Instead of doing his best to protect the people around him he constantly did the opposite especially in the beginning of the movie.

Instead of outsmarting Hook, they were just awful fight scenes. They were all horribly choreographed and obviously done on short notice. Wendy was a massive toxic awful person and a horrible sister and daughter. Instead of being her normal doting and loving self, she is a narcissistic, entitled, depressed, angsty, rude person.

The girls that were in the Lost "boys" were not too far off from her either. Also Neverland just looks like an island in the south of England or somewhere in between Ireland and Scotland there's no magical essence about it It just feels like a small grassy island that isn't in some special magical dimension.

Instead of an entire island shaped kind of like a dove but drawn by a 2-year-old and each little section of that island is a different thing one's a forest where Indians live one is a cove for the mermaids are one is the section with the lost boys live One is a cove and area where the pirates live etc... etc...

But now it just feels like this is some blob-shaped island that looks exactly the same from every area and has no real magical essence or anything special about it at all....There were even mountains in the original yet This is just a hilly blob of green grass the occasional fake movie set looking pieces.

The film just didn't fit together well it felt like a bunch of people who never actually watched the original film or book decided to make a movie about what they thought Peter Pan was and mixed as much diversity equity and inclusion in it that they could... All will not caring about the outcome of the film and if it would actually do well.

And continually tries to market to an group of people who don't even care about these things and only voice their opinion on crap on Twitter.

The people who grew up watching Peter Pan are Gen X and millennials if they really wanted to make a movie that people would see they would market to those groups instead they ruin everything they touch like normal(At least for the last 6 or so years it's been the norm).

We need companies to actually start caring about the films they make and the fact that fans are the ones that their servicing, not themselves.

That's why we've seen so many movies lately be directed by unknown directors, because it's all about diversity, equity and inclusion.

It has nothing to do with actually making a good movie that the fans will enjoy. If it did it would basically just be the exact same animated movie, but in live action.

Honestly this is just another perfect example of Disney not having any creativity these days and trying to create hype by redoing a story. Instead of giving the audience what they want and giving them that story, they instead completely tear apart everything the audience loves/loved about the original. It's just proven by constant race or gender swapping characters. If a company or person is so willing to completely change massive aspects of characters, then they will have no problem at all changing the story. Which is exactly what happened, just like all of the other live actions. It's also why they put this movie out on Disney Plus and not theaters. They knew the movie would fail. So they thought, let's just have it fail quietly instead of publicly.

Honestly the movie is almost impossible to get through it so boring. I didn't even finish the last 20 minutes of it, because it was so awful. The actor who plays Peter Pan seems like he was just cast for his racial ambiguity and the fact that he is "diverse". I'm not trying to bag on a child actor (which I don't like doing), he just felt like he was reading everything directly off the script page and never practiced or put any real effort into it. Also like I said Jude Law was just not a good Captain hook and looked nothing like how Captain Hook should look.

All in all I just say, watch at your own risk. This movie will bore the crap out of you and probably isn't worth wasting your time on. It's not worth putting all that effort in, especially when they didn't put in effort to make the movie worth watching.
