My honest opinion, if you're looking for a faithful adaptation of the book then you're out of luck. Disney is all about fake, plastic 'wonder' and its products have always been made to keep happy those parents who believe children can't handle dark stories. This particular 2023 version is poor even for a Disney movie. Forced identity politics make the whole thing a mess.
If you want to watch a good story, well told, then go watch some of the awesome anime that's our now.
If, however, you're someone who bends the knee to Disney then you'll probably like this new movie too. So go spend your time and money on it.
