Peter Pan & Wendy has all the necessary quality in its confection but not the spirit. The fundamental issue that has plagued all of Disney's live action adaptations.

I understand that Disney is looking for new audiences and obviously these revamps of their old material are a crucial part of that. However, the comparison to their animated counterparts is inevitable and not for the stupid reason of: ''They're ruining the classics'' because that's a fallacy, but because like it or not those animated films are still to this day better films.

Peter Pan & Wendy has somewhat earned its chance to be seen, but its lack of imagination and, above all, soul and magic place it hopelessly behind what has come before.
