This is more content from the creatively bankrupt modern “entertainment” industry. Swapping is a zero sum game, 1-1=0. This would be true if they cast Chalamet as Brandon the vampire slayer or Cate Blanchett as Susie Sanford and Daughter.
Swapping is a zero sum game. Conversely, writing new stories while continuing to tell existing stories is a win win, 1+1=2. Imagine the money they could make if they had two stories to sell instead of trying to force feed one bad story.
The modern entertainment industry is incompetent and inept. They lack the ability to tell decent stories even when they have excellent source material, e.g. Rings of Poop just to name one example.
