Review of Pet Sematary (2019) by Shaneb — 04 Apr 2019

This is a pretty straight forward modernized version of a classic. (Also there’s a little nod to “IT”, during the last quarter of the movie).

This movie is straight up the middle, not groundbreaking and not wack either. They didn’t try to do anything crazy with the story, if this wasn’t a remake and this was an original movie/plot it would be just as good any other modern thriller/horror movie made in the last 5-10yrs. The only thing I didn’t like about this movie was a small character(s) flaw.... in the beginning, when the parents are discussing life/death/after life/god etc. and how to tell the daughter about that kinda stuff, the parents have two diff views (god and heaven and people looking down on you etc, and death is just...dead, nothing else.) and I’m like; really? Two 40something Married adults, with two kids and theyre still unsure about each others views on death and how to tell their NINE YEAR OLD daughter? They haven’t discussed death with a NINE YEAR OLD yet??? How does a nine year old, in 2019 not know how death works??? Not important to the movie at all, it was just a filler scene, just bugged me.
