Review of Pet Sematary (2019) by Acescinema — 07 Apr 2019
Overall: A solid horror film with no weak/boring moments. Captivating emotional scenes that really work along with some scary horror moments. Mediocre ending.
An enjoyable film with no boring moments. The first half of the film was filled with exposition - but in my opinion, it didn't affect the film's overall quality. There were various clever and scary scenes full of suspense and action as well as some emotional moments that really punch hard. The ending portion of the film in my opinion was 50/50 - and I feel like the character of the father had some questionable actions throughout the second half of the film, in the eyes of the audience. More character development of the father would have been greatly appreciated. Also, the character of the cat felt "busy" in the first half, not confusing, but stirred the feeling of: "this happened and now this happened etc" - in a short period of time.
