Review of Personal Shopper (2016) by Jeremy C — 08 Apr 2017
Some good films are told through simple direction, style, and action. Now, I do have to admit. I was saying "what?" at the end too. Although, some good movies don't need to just spoon feed you information. Some can cleverly woven into the storyline. The storyline itself had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I assume there was going to be a payoff but it never came. It really doesn't have to though. After looking it up it does open my eyes to the rest of the film. You are given little hints throughout the film and aren't told to pay attention to them. However, they are there if you see it. To those hating the film, well just because you don't understand it and thought it felt like a easy cop out , doesn't mean that the film wasn't good. Just means you didn't get it. That's fine but it gave everything you needed to know, you just didn't pick up on it. I didn't either.
8.1/10.
