Review of Persona (1966) by Anthony D — 28 Oct 2008
Lynch, Fellini, Jodorowsky and Bergman. 4 directors responsible for films that feel impossible for me to criticise. I must admit though that despite being quite talky I have to admire the film for having 2 fascinating characters and really developing their relationship.
The performances were great too. But at times their motivations and actions were too perplexing, and an actual story might've helped. Leonard Maltin said this is not a film for discerning viewers.
Call me discerning.
