Review of Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) by Sumit S — 18 Oct 2012
With its dense cinematography that captured everything pretty well but also made 18th century France look like a great black pit, justifying performances from the cast & capturing the theme of obsession superbly, Perfume still falls short of being a masterpiece due to its poorly handled narration.
It could've gone places but ended typically like any other film of its genre, its weak point being the last 30 minutes. A missed opportunity on an overall scale, the scent of Perfume will work on you but probably won't last when the credits start rolling.
