Review of Perfect Creature (2007) by Louise J — 02 Jul 2009
Finally there's some originality and sophistication granted to a vampire movie, although calling it a vampire movie would perhaps give it the wrong image. It doesn't play on the overused stereotypical imagegs of vampires but puts a unique spin upon the mythology.
The vampires do not attack humans, the humans donate them blood. The vampires run a church under the belief that they were sent by god to serve the humans. In the 300 years since vampires first existed they had never once killed a human.
.. Until Edgar who is driven mad by a virus. There isn't really any satisfying villan in this movie, aside from Edgar but he isn't in his right mind. Sure the vampires made some poor choices and done some experiments that they really shouldn't have but they had good intentions.
The vampires are both the bad guys and the good guys. If you are looking for a fast paced action movie with gore and bad language then this movie is perhaps not for you... It has far too much class for that.
