Review of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) by Sam K — 27 Oct 2014
The first time I saw this film I was entranced by the CGI and the humour in film, I was young a naive. I've the books now, it is a very poor interpretation of Riordan work. The book only follows the basic principle of the book and refuses to go into the finer details which had made the series gripping and interesting.
I see a lot of people criticizing the series as a Harry Potter rip off, perhaps at first, this film certainly seems to be. I imagine if this was done properly it would have been much better recieved by audiences and fans of the series in general. As it stands I refused to watch the second series out of principle.
Here's hopping for a reboot! Maybe this time they may read the book before writing the script.
