Review of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) by Jason S — 21 Feb 2015
Worse than the low bar I had already set for it. The casting was off and the direction bad. Every character was a complete cliche. I mean honestly how can you have Uma Therman and Pierce Brosnan both feel clunky over acted and out of place? It was a race to the next map stop never showing real conflict or at any point character development.
It's clear the hero won't die, so each scene merely acts as the mechanism to show off a new aspect of his powers. Roll the dice, repeat. I became bored and I'm a man who was able to find small redeeming moments of grace in the transformers franchise.
A.O. Scott who said it was fun, I curse you.
