Review of People I Know (2002) by Sean C — 26 Jul 2004
DVD First Viewing, 1 Algrant film seen.
People I Know is a fine example of how a director makes an actor. Al Pacino is a good actor, but his performances are never noteworthy unless the director is someone like Coppola, Michael Mann, or Christopehr Nolan, etc. This film has so much going against it. A) A director who did episodes of "Sex and the City" - B) A party scene in the first 15 minutes (BIG NO-NO) - C) Don't mention celebrities names in a film in which celebrities star in!!! When Al Pacino talks about "Regis" it is too obvious that we are watching Al Pacino in a movie. We are not watching his character.
