Review of People I Know (2002) by Anthony E — 05 Aug 2007
Granted, the acting was pretty good, but the story lacked punch. The foreshadowing was way too overdone, and you could see the climax from a mile away. It was meant to be manipulative, to draw you into the character, make you relate, but it couldn't, considering the main character's inconsistency on matters of truth and justice.
This movie tried to have the cake and eat it too, and in the end it succeeded in neither. Go see Citizen Kane - supposedly Welles accomplishes what Algrant could not.
