Michael Powell's creepy psychological thriller, about a cameraman who films women as he kills therm, came out just before Psycho, but whereas Psycho was hailed as a masterpiece, Peeping Tom was frowned upon - which is a shame because Peeping Tom is a vastly superior film; in comparison, Psycho seems soapy and psychologically one dimensional.
Peeping Tom was undoubtedly influenced by earlier Hitchcock films, but actually better than anything Hitchcock made...
