Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Kevan C — 23 Jan 2011
My favourite movie of all time. A masterpiece by Michael Powell from a brilliant screenplay by Leo Marks.. Everything about this movie smacks of subtext and voyeurism. The subject matter is disturbing, a movie focus-puller who kills women but Powel's masterstroke is to make the protagonist vulnerable and damaged by abuse as a young child which contributes to his disturbing activities.
.. Amazing movie and one which was way ahead of its time when it was released in 1959 the same year as Psycho.. Peeping Tom however is a much better movie... See this on Blu-Ray and marvel at this masterpiece.
