Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by X X — 26 May 2012
More than 50 years after its violence and voyeurism scandalized critics and audiences, the film seems a little bonkers for different reasons. Without that initial shock factor, the film is as goofy as it is scary, a kind of perversely intellectual B-movie.
The effective but rudimentary photography and a decidedly sense of privacy paranoia only add to the dated feeling of the picture.
