Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by G. K — 25 Jan 2009
A masterpiece! Peeping Tom is a disturbing horror classic which uses atmosphere and clever dialogues to keep the audience's attention at the peak. Direction and plot is top-notch! The use of props is what gives it its unique edge: You feel how the camera and film strip are unseperatable elements of the story, and how they shape the character of Mark Lewis.
Although it features exaggerated acting and courtesy of the film making of the era, even this helps plot development, especially towards the end. A must-see for everybody who wants to re-discover horror genre!
