Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Louis F — 21 Apr 2008
Man. This movie is incredible. Without this film there would be no Michael Haneke, there would be no Videodrome.
The first film of it's kind to explore the relationship between the cinema that we take in and the violence that we put out.
Beautifully shot, incredibly acted, a script so tight that not one extraneous line is delivered.
An absolute masterpiece of a thriller.
This movie could also be called "How Not To Raise A Child".
(also for those interested parties, the back story behind the film is almost more interesting than the film itself).
