The three stars are for cillian murphy alone. everyone else in this film is incidental. as far as mr. murphy is concerned----i've never seen anyone so thoroughly invested in every character he plays. he literally transforms. he's magical.
The movie started to get a bit warped in the middle and I thought it would go to much more interesting places. ending it all with a quiet sort of catharsis (after he's burned all of his bridges, so to speak) was a letdown. still, cillian is greatness, personified.
