Review of Peacock (2010) by Daniel Q — 20 Jun 2010
An extremely under the radar indie film. This film benefits from a great cast and a great performance from Cillian Murphy. It is definitely an ode to Hitchcock's "Psycho". This thriller relies more on atmosphere then thrills and chills.
The films main flaw is that John apparently has a "Superman" effect on the towns people. You can clearly tell that it is him dressed up as woman, yet people that have known him for a long time (some most of his life) can not tell it's him.
This is distracting and takes away from the film. To be honest it completely insults your intelligence. If you can overlook that, the movie is pretty artistic and beautifully filmed. There are also allot of hidden metaphors and double meanings if you look for them.
Overall good but not great.
