Review of Payback (1999) by Richelle M — 09 Aug 2011
Taha I laughed often when watching this film. Has a 1940's film noir way about this movie. I can imagine Mel Gibson doing those black and white serious monologues with face talking to camera any minute.
And this guy is dedicated. Since he put all that effort for just $70, 000. Porter (M. Gibson) really has a grudge against his former pal. Too bad about the wife. Old habits do die hard I guess. I also kept laughing because of their straight faces during a funny line i.
E. that Italian guy with receding hairline, the foolish The Suit/syndicate that try to catch him (and boy did he show them a thing or two). My favourite scene there is the cigarette light-up car. Makes the hero guy a bit more real since he got hammered in places, beat up several times and almost got his.
..thing sliced off. And so much ego and bravery for one man to do it alone with no gun or anything. tehe. Entertaining revenge film.
