Review of Pawn Sacrifice (2015) by Jason C — 16 Sep 2015
I always thought Toby Maguire was a B level actor, but this movie changed my mind! I thought I was watching Bobby Fischer! He deserves more credit than he will probably get and only fans of Bobby Fischer will understand how well Toby did.
I thought they underplayed William Lombardy's role a little since they had played and been friends before the scene in which they come together as a team. All actors did an extremely good job portraying the chess figures they played.
Spassky (Liev Schreiber) and William Lombardy (Peter Sarsgaard) were portrayed perfectly also.
