Essentially a road-trip movie starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two British sci-fi friends who encounter an actual alien (the 'Paul' of the title) while on a road-trip through America, specifically to Comic-Con and then on past Area 51.
Not one for the easily-offended, this hits very close to the bone a few times, and I don't always agree with the characters, their beliefs or actions. I did, however, note the (many) references to other sci-fi films, some more obvious than others: off the top of my head, I picked up references to Aliens, Star Wars, Close Encounters and ET to name but a few.
