Wow. The opening scene alone makes the movie. This is certainly the role that George C. Scott was born to play (although the real Patton was uncomfortable speaking in front of crowds and had a high-pitched voice).
How is it that I am 28 years old and had never seen this movie before? Incredible. The melencholy ending somehow reminded me of the ending for Godfather 3...
