Review of Patton (1970) by Rob M — 01 Sep 2017
George C. Scott is riveting as the abrasive General George S. Patton in this war biopic that follows him through his engagement in service during the latter half of World War II and his various battles of egos that went with it.
What could have been a long drawn out and utterly boring character study becomes a marvel of filmmaking in the capable hands of Scott and John G. Avildsen. Karl Malden and Michael Bates lead the supporting ensemble who go in and out of the story of Patton's bittersweet success and legacy.
