Review of Patton (1970) by Gerald J — 24 Feb 2009
The one scene in Patton that in my view captures a great deal of the man's personal is when he's describing this sojourn on the battlefield as a carthagenian soldier! He truly believes that he died fighting the Romans on a lonely battlefield thousands of years before! I love this movie! My father served under him as a member of the 761st Tank Battalion and according to my father the film did capture a great deal of the general's persona.
Of course Patton's real voice was'nt the huskiness of George C. Scott but still one the spirit is there.
