Review of Patton (1970) by Jerrod G — 17 Jun 2009
Epic! Masterpiece! Classic! One of the best biopics ever made, dealing with one of the most important figures of the WWII hidden as a character study. It's a man who was punished for his own ideals, for believing in what was right, and moral.
His toughness in the field was also shown in his personality. A constant fear for his enemy, some who refused to change and this refusing cost him his biggest dream. He proved himself right and kept his nickname "Old Blood and Guts".
A Quixote of the 20th century. The director shows us this huge movie where the battle scenes are also a confrontation with the character's principles. And George C. Scott gives a remarkable and unforgettable performance.
