Review of Patton (1970) by Greg M — 06 Feb 2010
Couldn't believe my father took us three kids to see PATTON on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh on a hot summer day, but he did. The air conditioning was fantastic, so was the violence and the vulgarity!
However, having got all that out of the way, George C. Scott's performance was outstanding playing the part of an ego-maniacal General in WWII. General Patton believed he was reincarnated to fulfill the destiny at this time and place in history, nothing was going to stand in his way.
This is what Oscar material is all about.
