Review of Patton (1970) by Jason R — 27 Jul 2011
THE BEST WAR MOVIE PERIOD!!! Nothing comes close in my mind, there are great ones, but this is just perfect! George C. Scott is magnificent as Patton, and his willingness to decline his oscar win only proves how sleek he really is.
The war scenes in the film are realistic for its time, even though most people will look at Saving Private Ryan as the more prominent. The movie shows war in a larger and broader sense unlike many other war films which show it in the point of view of seven to ten crtain people.
The movie is indeed about one man, but because Patton is a colonol, we see war in his eyes as an observor. Again, great work form Scott at presenting Patton's patriotism as well as his dominant attitude.
