Review of Patton (1970) by Stephen E — 23 Jun 2012
Classic war movie about General George Patton (George C. Scott), his triumphs in the World War II and later his fall from grace, as his hot-tempered mood and habit of speaking of turn to the press makes get's him in the doghouse in the Allied leadership.
George C. Scott is great as the lead and the lenghty story is told perfectly, there was even an intermission. It was also nice to see the german side of the story, with the eyes of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel (Karl Michael Vogler) and Captain Oskar Steiger (Siegfried Rauch). Overall "Patton" is a great war film, that delivers a good insight not only to battling soldiers but the leaders as well. The Bastogne scenes were a nice thing to see too, now after "Band of Brothers".
