Review of Patriots Day (2016) by Matt D — 30 Dec 2016
Wow! For people questioning if it was too soon for a movie focusing on the events of the Boston Marathon bombing 2013, your wrong, and the timing couldn't be any better. What I loved most about this film was it's focus on the people, not only the victims, but the police officers and even the bombers themselves.
This movie hits on all cylinders. It covers the days from the bombing all the way to the eventual capture of the younger bomber seamlessly and leaves the audience feeling sad, angry, but most of all happy.
This film highlights the humanity of this event and how people have a choice to sit back when something like this happens or to take action. The efforts of these brave men and women were put on display beautifully by Peter Berg and great performances were delivered all around by Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, J.
K. Simmons, and more. Excellent film, emotional and impactful. See this movie. 10/10.
