Review of Patriots Day (2016) by Itamar E — 22 Jan 2017
From the get go,this movie puts Mark Wahlberg front and center, and his down to earth approach and general "good old boy" approach really shines in this kind of movies (same as in "Deepwater Horizon").
The movie tracks the events leading and following the boston marathon bombing from various angles, and bringing in the terrorists point of view,is refreshing in the sense that you can relate more to the people who worked.
Days and nights to track and capture them.
The bombing scenes really display the level of disorder and horror and people expirenced and using real photage and tv takes from the actual events gives the entire movie even more crediblity (honestly,i got choked up).
While the star studded cast is a little over bearing at times, all in all everyone delivers solid preformances, and the movie in whole is solid and doesn't leave you hanging too much with over long dialogs.
