HANDS DOWN THE BEST FILM OF 2016!!! Patriots Day is about the Boston Marathon bombings and the search for the two scums that did it. Mark Wahlberg plays Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders, and does a fantastic job in the role.

Another great performance in the film was Kevin Bacon as Richard DesLauriers which is really saying something considering the fact that Bacon isn't in a lot of films now a days so too see him play the role and do so well is great.

Other people in this film such as Michelle Monaghan, J.K Simmons, and John Goodman also do a great job in this film as well as Bacon and Wahlberg. In my Deepwater Horizon (2016) review I said that Peter Berg has found the types of films he's best at making, which is really saying a lot considering the fact that he hasn't really directed a lot of stuff I honestly can't wait to see what he crafts next, he is honestly becoming one of my favorite directors.

What I truly love about this film is the fact that it tells you that people do come together in a time of crisis which is a beautiful thing about humanity and the scene after the explosion were you see people helping these injured victims shows that the scumbags that were responsible for this horrific event are out numbered by the good people.

Another thing I love about this film is Berg goes to great lengths to give respect to the courageous cops that found the two scums that did this attack and he also gives respect to the victims as well.

The intensity of this film is also amazing as well their were times were I was literally gripping my fists which is very rare for me. Berg and Wahlberg are slowly becoming like a dynamic duo in Hollywood like Scorsese and DiCaprio, Spielberg and Hanks, etc.

Patriots Day is not for everyone though the films phenomenal its extremely raw in style, intense as hell, and is VERY emotional, especially at the end, but it makes you proud to be an American. Patriots Day is a raw, gritty, emotional, and intense powerhouse of a film, I can't find a single flaw in this movie, if your looking for an intense biography film go watch Patriots Day I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
