Ford's Jack Ryan is more of an action hero than an analyst, and for the most part I'd say that limits this film, but there's a fantastic action sequence toward the end of the film that may cause me to rethink that.
Ford is good, not great, as Jack Ryan (it isn't one of his more memorable roles), and pretty much everyone in this cast is performing below average (including Sean Bean, Samuel L. Jackson, and Richard Harris).
However, I loved this movie when I was younger and sometimes nostalgia is enough (plus there really are some good action sequences here).
