Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Ross B — 01 Jun 2010
Another classic Kubrick film made very early on in his career. Kirk Douglas is fantastic as a Colonel in the French army during WWI who is fighting for his troop's rights. The film is an excellent anti war statement that really shows the ridiculous mindset of the high command in any army and what they are willing to do in order to look good.
This movie shows the greatness that would come from Kubrick later on down the line.
