Quite possibly the most stunningly heartbreaking antiwar film ever made. I had a frown on my face almost the entire length of the film just from the utter insanity of war and its politics on display, against the backdrop of one of the most senseless wars of all time.
It doesn't matter what country you're from or what language you speak, the utter random injustice that comes along as a package deal with war alone is enough to drive one crazy. Kirk Douglas and George Macready give searing performances in one of Kubrick's all-time best films.
If you don't get at least a little misty eyed during the end song, you might want to check and see if you're actually a human being.
